Charges: Four Warrants $75000 bail each
Possession of Meth
Attempt to elude (misdemeanor)
On 06/01/13 at approximately 1720 hours, a Deputy with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office contacted a disabled vehicle parked in the median of Highway 97. The Deputy recognized the passenger to be Zane Isbell. A warrants check was done by dispatch, and the Deputy was notified that Isbell had several warrants for his arrest.
As Deputies were talking to Isbell, he crawled across the driver, and exited the car through the driver’s window. The Deputy at the driver’s door attempted to grab Isbell as he came out the window, but he was unable to hold on to him. Isbell then ran across the two south bound lanes of traffic, and was nearly hit by passing motorist. Isbell then ran west down Tomahawk, and into a field.
Two Deputies were able to catch him, and take him into custody in a pasture. Isbell and the Deputies were uninjured in the chase. Isbell was transported to the Deschutes County Jail and booked on four outstanding warrants. All of the warrants were for violation of release agreements for firearms possession, theft, and drug related crimes. Each warrant had a $75,000 dollar bail. He was also charged with several new crimes to include: possession of methamphetamine, escape III, resisting arrest, and attempting to elude on foot.
