​Captain Bryan Husband

Captain Bryan Husband began his law enforcement career in 1994 with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office. He was initially hired as a Corrections Officer, later promoted to Sheriff’s Cadet, and in 1995 advanced to the position of Deputy Sheriff. During his tenure with San Luis Obispo County, he served in a broad range of assignments, including Chaplain Coordinator, Background Investigator, Certified Instructor, School Resource Officer, and within the Narcotics Unit. He was also a member of the Special Enforcement Detail, serving both as a perimeter team member and a sniper.

Captain Husband joined the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office on October 3, 2005. Since that time, he has held numerous operational and leadership roles, including serving as a spokesperson for the Citizens’ Academy, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and assignments within the Patrol, Special Services, and Detectives Divisions. His leadership progression continued with promotions to Sergeant in 2008, Lieutenant in 2013, and Captain in 2025.

In his most recent assignment as Administrative Lieutenant, Captain Husband oversaw several key programs and units, including the Sheriff’s Office Accreditation process, Shop With a Cop, National Night Out, Deputy Day Camp, and the Sheriff’s Office Youth Academy. He also supervised the Animal Control Technicians and Civil Unit, and served as the coordinator for the Reserve Deputy and Volunteer Programs.

Captain Husband holds an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate Degree in General Education. He has earned Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Supervisory, Management, and Executive Certifications through the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST), demonstrating his commitment to ongoing professional development and leadership excellence.

Captain Husband and his wife, Reylynn, have been married for 26 years and are parents of a son and a daughter, both of whom are attending college. Outside of work, Captain Husband enjoys hiking, spending time with his family and pets, and actively participating in his church community.
