The Patrol Division is responsible for patrolling and responding to calls for service, both emergency and non-emergency, throughout Deschutes County. Patrol Division
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office provides 24/7 patrol coverage across 3,000+ square miles of city streets, high desert, and Cascade Mountain terrain. Deputies also monitor U.S. Highways 97 and 20, plus busy roads and recreation areas.
We serve areas outside Bend, Redmond, Sunriver, and Black Butte Ranch, and provide contracted patrol services for the City of Sisters.
What Patrol Deputies Do
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls
- Investigate crimes and suspicious activity
- Enforce traffic laws
- Prevent crime through community patrols
- Serve subpoenas, restraining orders, and other court documents
- Support Investigations and Special Services (SAR, Marine, Forest, OHV)
Collaboration
Deputies work closely with local police departments, Oregon State Police, federal land agencies, neighboring sheriffs, and public safety partners including fire, roads, and ODOT.
